"Filipkiewicz is among the few students of Stanislawski who did not stop at the master's instructions, developing and enriching them in an individual way. The innate subtlety of color, skillfully channeled during the period of study, became the basis for this development. Filipkiewicz never repeats once acquired observations and each of his landscapes and still lifes is a new effort and a new creative act, and the color scale of his paintings is as wide as the wide scale of varieties of Polish landscape and Polish light. Filipkiewicz's love is the Tatra Mountains. He knows how to reproduce both the unheard-of purity of their color on sunny days and the subtle grayness of their mists and low trailing clouds." W.
