Biography
Painter, illustrator, graphic designer. Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, diploma in the atelier of Stefan Gierowski.
In her work she deals with issues of color and painting form. She is interested in working with processed photographic record and themes of the body as a form disciplined by social relations.
Iwona Kobryn´ in her artistic practice focuses? simultaneously on two issues that are important for the reading of her paintings. She works with archival photographs, which she processes for her own purposes, and explores purely painterly problems related to color and composition in a very insightful way.
Painted since 2020, the paintings in the Last Day of Summer series are the fruit of her admiration for archival photographs of beach girls and beach boys from the 1920s and 1930s.
