Marek Ratajczyk was born in 1958. He studied at the Pedagogical Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan. The artist has been repeatedly awarded in numerous art competitions. He creates paintings in oil and prints, in which he uses chipping and aquatint techniques. It should be mentioned that each of Marek Ratajczyk's graphics has a different color scheme. The painter includes atmospheric landscapes and subtle nudes in his works. In the graphic series "Ballerina," he depicts figures of dancers inspired by the works of Edgar Degas. In the series of landscapes, the artist used an open composition. Sun-drenched fields and forests are treated decoratively. The spreading trees are lit up to the point of redness. Marek Ratajczyk treats details with extreme precision. All the smallest elements have been extracted to create the living tissue of the forest ("In the Garden"). The works exude an unusual quietness and tranquility.
