A 25-złoty tax stamp from the Kościuszko Uprising , 1794, Series B, with a 4-digit serial number: 5022
A natural-looking banknote, a rarer variant, featuring a less common 4-digit serial number. Its greatest asset is the exceptionally intense yellow-cream color of the paper, which closely matches the color this denomination originally had during that era. Currently, most pieces of the 25 złoty 1794 note are gray or light cream in color; therefore, this auction piece should be considered exceptional.
This piece is in very good condition; the letters “B S”—a chemical security mark—are visible on the banknote, the dry seal is very clearly legible, and the signatures of the two commissioners, P. Grozman and M. Zakrzewski, each executed in a different type of ink.
A very nice piece, with its condition confirmed by a PMG grading note corresponding to its condition.
