Popular in its time, in bohemian circles, the work of Otto Weininger (1880-1903), lived to see numerous editions in the early 20th century. The author committed suicide shortly after the book was published (in 1903), in a room specially rented for the purpose, where Beethoven died.
He posited the thesis that every human being has a male element in him (he associated it with culture, logic, morality) and a female element (the source of vanity, sexual promiscuity, among other things) .
Infrequent, first Polish edition.
