Painter associated with Lodz; member of the Association of Polish Artists since 1950. He painted historicizing genre, hunting and battle scenes often inspired by Sienkiewicz's "Trilogy". He also created portraits, landscapes and engaged in book illustration. A large group of the artist's works was presented at his posthumous retrospective exhibition held at the BWA in Lodz in 1983. The artist's paintings can be found, among others, in the collections of the Museum of the Polish Army in Warsaw, in the Provincial Office in Lodz and in numerous private collections.

Edward Potęga (1890 Stanislawow - 1974 Lodz) teacher, naturalist, popularizer of nature protection. Creator and director of the Lodz City Museum of Nature and Pedagogy. President of the League of Nature Protection. Creator of the Encyclopedia of Nature Protection in Poland.
