Painter associated with the artistic community of Cracow. He learned painting under the tutelage of Wojciech Kossak, finding work as an assistant in his studio. He practiced oil technique, and less often, watercolor. His work is dominated by landscapes, forest views, often enlivened by parts of staffage and Krakow motifs. A large part of his oeuvre are genre scenes set in the scenery of Krakow's suburban villages: depictions of modest peasant homesteads, wooden churches, horse-drawn wagons or wiry horsemen, Krakow weddings in colorful folk costumes and Krakow florists. His works, painted with great verve and using a slightly muted color range, reveal an impressionistic sensitivity to light and color.
