Frederick Michał Czartoryski (1696-1775) - Duke of Klewanie and Żukowo, Grand Chancellor of Lithuania, member of the powerful Czartoryski family, belonging to the "Familia" party. He was one of the leading politicians and reformers of the 18th-century Republic, striving to strengthen central power and modernize the state. From his youth he held public office, participating in the political life of Lithuania and the Crown. He supported the policies of Augustus III and later Stanislaw August Poniatowski. As Grand Chancellor of Lithuania, he took care of the development of the administration, judiciary and finances. He was known for his high personal culture, his patronage of the arts and sciences, and his activities in support of political and educational reforms in the Republic. He died in Warsaw, leaving behind his reputation as a zealous servant of the state and an enlightened aristocrat.
