Biography
He studied art in Warsaw from 1909 to 1914 at the Wojciech Gerson Drawing School under Miłosz Kotarbiński and at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków under Ignacy Pieńkowski. In 1914, he was also a student of Jacek Malczewski. He traveled to France, the Netherlands, Italy, and the Balkans. He took an active part in the artistic life of interwar Warsaw. He exhibited his work frequently and also held numerous social and organizational roles within the visual arts community. He was a member of the Formists, Rytm, and Ryt groups. He also worked in woodcut, painting on ceramics and textiles, interior decoration, and design projects in the field of applied arts.
