The Indian Tulwar sword, a typical saber used in India, dates back to the 19th century. The blade is significantly curved, which allows for effective slashing attacks. The Tulwar was traditionally used by warriors in various parts of India, particularly the Mughal Empire and the Maratha Confederacy.This specimen has a smooth-edged steel blade and the characteristic massive disc-headed hilt to provide a firm grip and protect the hand. The cross guard is finished with rounded projections. The sword is completed with a simple fabric scabbard.
