The helmet originated in Italy and was commonly used during the Renaissance throughout Europe as well as in Poland by infantry, cavalry and also in the naval service.In the early days of the famous Polish Hussars, Sturmak-type helmets were also used, such as in 1558 in the rota of Nicholas in his personal post. Burgundian helmets also served during the legendary defense of Malta against the Turks in 1565.
The helmet is forged from thick steel plate, a spherical bell, on the axis of which a high crest is visible, the visor with a slight sharpening, the nut is short.
