Size: 6.1 x 10.3 cm. Good condition (minor soiling, a tear mark).
Photograph of a portrait (based on a print by Aleksander Lesser) of Władysław III Laskonogi (c. 1161–1166–1231), Duke of Greater Poland and twice Duke of Kraków, the youngest son of Mieszko III the Old. His reign was marked by power struggles, primarily a protracted conflict with his nephew Władysław Odonic, as well as rivalry among the Piast princes over Kraków. After the death of Leszek the White, he once again ascended the Kraków throne in 1228, but toward the end of his life he lost Greater Poland and transferred his inheritance rights to Henryk the Bearded.
