The artist in the series 'Touch the Landscape' departs from the conventions of landscape painting and urges us to a different way of perception. He avoids the term 'paintings' and calls his works 'objects'.
The landscape is never static - the wind moves the clouds, the light creates shadows, is reflected in the water, reflections are created. Similarly, Jaroslaw Filipek's landscapes, change in time as the viewer moves. They modify dynamically when one moves closer to the work, changes the perspective of viewing it, looks at it from an angle. The artist achieves the effects of variation through the play of light and a unique painting technique, combining structural forms created by mixing acrylic binder with sand and using paints and varnishes he creates. Textures create shadows, surfaces covered with metallic paints - they iridesce, fluorescent - they glow, high reflective varnishes - they shine, matte ones containing light-absorbing components - they suggest satinness.
