Mieczysław Józef Kuznowicz T. J. (born January 15, 1874, in Licheń; died March 26, 1945, in Czarny Potok)—Polish Catholic priest (Jesuit) and social activist. Organizer of anti-alcohol and anti-smoking campaigns among young people. Founder of the Youth and Handicrafts Association. Author of numerous pamphlets on social, youth, and religious topics. He was awarded the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 1923.
In 1898, he took on the role of mentor at the association “St. Stanislaus Kostka’s Care for Apprentice Youth,” founded in 1897. He remained actively involved in the organization in the years that followed. In 1906, he took over the leadership of this organization, which he transformed into the Union of Industrial and Handicraft Youth under the patronage of St. Stanislaus Kostka, serving as its president until his death.
