Studied in 1947-53 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw - painting with Jan Sokolowski, Eugeniusz Arct and Michal Bylina, graphic design with Andrzej Rudzinski. While still a student, in 1951 he won second prize at a painting exhibition accompanying the Festival of Youth and Students in Berlin. After graduation, in 1954 he settled permanently in Kazimierz-on-Vistula. Over time, he became a well-known and respected figure. He represented realism, illuminated and shimmering on the model of Post-Impressionism, somewhat stylized, also not indifferent to the tradition of painting of Tadeusz Pruszkowski's students.
