Hand closed, iron frame. Sessile, shield-bowed yoke. Oval outer shield, perforated, passes into a bail connected to the head. The inner shield, decorated with a palmetto scrolled at the end, forms a thumb grip. The spindle-shaped shaft, laced densely with iron filigree, with the bottom set in a ring at the hilt, with the upper head riveted with a headstock. Steel hilt, double-edged, profiled on both sides into two slightly concave lobes.
