Andrzej Leśnik was born in 1959 in Głuszyca, Lower Silesia. In 1979-84 he studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the State Higher School of Fine Arts (now the University of Arts) in Poznan. He received his diploma in painting in 1984 in the studio of Prof. Włodzimierz Dudkowiak. Since 1984, he has been working at his alma mater. Since 2014, as a full professor, he has been teaching in the 1st Painting Studio at the Faculty of Art Education and Curatorial Studies. He works in painting and drawing. He lives and works in the Wilda district of Poznań.
