Large landscape canvas by Włodzimierz Zakrzewski - outstanding painter and educator associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. The painting "Hacienda Rossi" was created in 1981 during the artist's stay in Italy, as evidenced by the personal dedication on the back: "Per carissimi Alice e Bepi di Fiuggi," submitted on August 6, 1982 in Rome.
The composition depicts a picturesque avenue planted with trees, shown with a great sense of color, light and expressive painting matter. The vibrant texture, free brushstrokes and dynamic construction of space make this work an example of Zakrzewski's mature, expressive landscape painting.
The work comes from the late period of the artist's career, who, after years of teaching and designing, devoted himself fully to easel painting. His numerous travels produced cycles of landscapes and vedutas from Italy, France and the USA - often painted from nature, on location. Zakrzewski was highly regarded both in Poland and abroad - he exhibited in Paris, Rome, Milan, Sofia and Dresden, among others.

-
Private collection, Italy
