Originally a sculptor, in 2013 he made a turn towards painting. However, the paintings retain a sculptural element. In 2018, he made ceramic works for a solo exhibition at Domobaal Gallery, which, through presentation on the wall, are also associated with painting and drawing. The work combines artistic conventions, playfully reconfiguring traditional media with industrial processes. In the late 1990s Zakiewicz co-founded the art collective Unit (active from 1997 to 1999). He graduated with an MA in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College in 2003. Zakiewicz has exhibited at Domobaal in London, Cell Project Space in London and Gasworks Gallery in London, Samsung Institute for Art and Design, Liquidacion Total Zauberhaft in Waldschlösschen, Klink & Bank, Helen Pitt Gallery, Galerie Lucy Mackintosh, Draíocht and Konstakuten.
