He studied at the Industrial School in Lviv (1923-24) under K. Sichulski and in Paris under F. Léger (1925). He painted and drew portraits, landscapes, architecture and travesties of famous paintings. He was an excellent caricaturist, creator of satirical scenes of a moral and political nature. In 1928-35 he spent time in Paris, London and New York before returning to Warsaw to leave Poland in 1939 and settle in New York in 1941. He made drawing series devoted to various subjects, such as Jozef Pilsudski (1931-36), famous Poles (1937), cities, including Paris and London. He was the author of illustrations in magazines (including Lviv's "Szczutek", "Warsaw Barber", Paris' "L´Illustration", London's "The Graphic", America's "Fortune Magazine" and several other American magazines), albums (e.g. Mars in caricature in 1925), illustrated short stories, illustrations for publications by other authors (e.g. K. Wierzynski's The Forgotten Battlefield). Before the war he had exhibitions in Zakopane, Warsaw's Zachęta, the "Charpentier" gallery in Paris and the Garlinski gallery in London, after the war in New York and Washington, among others. Works in the National Museums in Warsaw and Wroclaw, the Museum of the Polish Army, the University of Texas at Austin, the Pilsudski Institute and the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York. "
