Sigismund I the Old, Grosz 1546, Cracow - S-T - angels - illustrated and very rare.
The coin comes from the legendary collection of Marian Frankiewicz exhibited at the auction house Felix Schlessinger in Berlin in 1930 (lot. 45).
Variety with the Leliwa coat of arms with the letters S - T on the sides on the obverse.
Crown closed. The bails of the crown decorated with jewels. The interior of the crown filled with an ornament with two "angels" , "cupids" - very rare.
Eagle with a thick torso and wings and a thin tail.
Inscribed variety with inscription in three lines and SIGISMVND... on the obverse and ...POLO... on the reverse.
Error - in the word ... MONETA ... the letter N was struck in mirror image and corrected - rare.
Error - in the word ... REGNI ... the letter N was stamped on the letter G, punctuated REGN/GI - rare.

Slight scratches on the obverse surface (visible in the photo) and local scarcity, but a beautifully preserved piece. Good detail. Intense luster and lots of mirror. Very rare variety of the crown. In such a state of preservation, the coin is very rare and very difficult to get on the collector's market A beautiful piece for specialized collections.
