Joanna Abra (artistic pseudonym), born in 1986.
She lives and works in Warsaw. A self-taught artist, she discovered her passion for creating art after turning 30. She develops her skills through private lessons and by working independently on her technique. In 2022, she made her debut on the Polish art market.

She primarily works in easel painting using oil paints, though she also experiments with other creative techniques. Her works are realistic, leaning toward magical realism and surrealism—the movements from which she draws her greatest inspiration. Strong contrasts and saturated colors are evident in the execution of her artistic concepts, as is her fascination with space and the objects found within it. Both the night and day skies, along with the wealth of phenomena they contain, very often serve as the main subject or an essential context for the depicted theme. The urban landscape is a motif the artist frequently explores; she most often portrays her beloved Warsaw. She also creates from her imagination, constructing somewhat mysterious, undefined spaces located somewhere beyond time and governed by their own laws. In her paintings, she strives to combine the earthly, material world with the spiritual, the elusive—that which transcends sensory experience and logical analysis.
