Joanna Sarapata began her art studies in 1983 at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and graduated with honors in 1986. 11 of her paintings were accepted into the École des Beaux-Arts Archive. In 1990, she undertook further studies at the Academie des Arts Contemporaire in Nice. In 1996, she won a poster competition for the Paris Opera.
