Magdalena Pawlowska, Lady of the Sun

Magdalena Pawlowska strives to discover new possibilities in art and forms that will enable her to show what lies at the bottom of her soul. She does not stay only with oil painting. The artist is also fond of gouache, graphic black and white. Over the years she has worked on restoring wooden and brick altars, so she is fascinated by the mysteriousness of recording and creating icons. She has been involved in uncovering the original splendor of historic buildings, including those in Kalisz and Kicin, where she honed her craft in traditional gilding and restoration techniques. She graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Poznań with a degree in conservation assistant. Fascinated by photographs of the cosmos, the artist began a painting series entitled "Heavenly Bodies." "Lady of the Sun" constitutes the first painting of the series.
