Biography
From 1978 to 1980, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań. In 1980, he began an apprenticeship at “Hermann Noack Bildgiesserei” in West Berlin—a renowned sculpture foundry. There, he spent three years perfecting the lost-wax casting technique. At that time, sculptures by artists such as Henry Moore and Kenneth Armitage were being produced there. During his apprenticeship, he began his studies at the Hochschule der Künste, the Berlin University of the Arts. In 1986, he returned to Wrocław. In 1990, together with a group of Wrocław artists, he exhibited his works at the Cannden Art Center in London. He held his first solo exhibition in 1991 at “Desa” in Wrocław, on Kościuszki Square. At that time, prestigious Scandinavian galleries took an interest in his work. Since then, his sculptures have become known in England, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France, and Germany.
