ARTIST ABOUT THE SCULPTURES:
The work "Three Graces" was created as an interpretation of a motif from Greek mythology about the three daughters of Zeus, who were called: Aglaya (Radiant), Euphrosyne (Wise) and Thalea (Flowering). They were Charity goddesses, fond of fun, music and dance, and were considered patrons of handicrafts and fine arts. The motif of three goddesses is also connected with the spinning of human fate, in Greece these were the Mojras, also found in Scandinavian mythology (Norns), or Slavic mythology (Rodzanice). The Graces presented by me reflect the hardships of femininity and fate, which changes and deforms our psyche, strongly influences the body and emotions. How to remain a beautiful Gracia, who likes laughter and fun? This is a particular challenge in the context of contemporary expectations of women, who often impose a certain pattern on themselves. The work consists of three sculptures made of bronze, which are a composition subject to individual modification - moving, changing the position and distance of particular Gracies in relation to each other.
BIO ARTISTS:
Anna Soltysik, graduate of the Cracow University of Technology Faculty of Architecture (2007), Folk Artisan University in Wola Sekowa (2014), journeyman braider (2014), master wood sculptor (2017). Graduate of the Faculty of Art, University of Rzeszow, majoring in Visual Arts (diploma in sculpture and painting) (2019). Participant of the International Artistic Actions in Wola Sekowa (2015, 2016, 2017). Since 2017 a member of the art group M37A.
