This terracotta group is a fine composition by the French master Claude Michel, known as Clodion. The sculpture captures the playful, bacchic spirit of the Rococo period, depicting a mature satyr seated alongside a young satyr and a playful Cupid (Amor). The elder satyr is shown with crown of grapevine leaves, holding a platter of fruit, while the smaller figures interact with him in a lighthearted, dynamic arrangement. Terracotta , Height 47 cm. Inscribed "CLODION" on the reverse.
