embossed leather, steel frame, 14.5 x 8.5 cm; good condition.
A unique men's wallet from 200 years ago, not found at auctions at home or abroad. Inside from the covers one pocket each for documents or banknotes, inside are covers for note cards and a purse for gold and silver coins. The wallet belonged to a doctor or apothecary because there are medical notes in Latin. There is also the date: "February 2, 1829." On the outside of the covers there is a bordure and a medallion with an image of a smoker with a smoking cigarette leaning against a table with bottles. Leather still firm and glossy. A great rarity!
