Janusz Danecki.
The Arabs.
It presents the origins of Arab civilization, its political history, wars, conquests, successive dynasties, and social life. Islam and the figure of Muhammad, as well as the processes of Islamization—understood here as the creation of a new Islamic culture by Arabs together with non-Arabs—are given special attention. By highlighting the development of legal and theological sciences, literature, erotic works, art, and architecture, it also discusses the influence of the Arab-Muslim heritage on Europe and addresses the issues of the Arab world’s Westernization and its complexities in its confrontation with the West.
