JANOWSKA Zofia - Lobaczewski's ideas in the struggle against idealism in mathematics. Warsaw 1953; PWN. 8, pp. 87, [1]. broch.
Cover a bit dusty, inside very good condition. Owner's signature. Translated from Russian. The use of the work of one of the leading scholars of non-Euclidean geometry for propaganda purposes. In the final section, the author writes: "The profoundly materialistic nature of Lobachevsky's remarks can best be explained when we address them based on the indications of the classics of Marxism-Leninism. 'From living perception to abstract thought and from it to practice - such is the dialectical path of knowledge of truth [...],' writes Lenin. The dialectical nature of this path was not yet clear to Lobachevsky. But the materialist outlines of this very path to truth as the knowledge of objective reality [...] were already apparent to him."
