Slight rubbing of the corners of the covers and the edges of the spine, the backstrip is cracked at the spine, internally very good condition. Handwritten inventory number on title page. On the front cover gilt inscription: "Spółka Wydawnicza Polska w Krakowie" (which probably handled the distribution of part of the edition), on the back signature of the bookbinder (blind stamp): "A. Olszeniak, Kraków" First edition of the classic monograph of the material culture of the Podhale region. Introduction by W. Tatarkiewicz. Published posthumously, this work, which together with the earlier "Folk Construction in Podhale" "pioneering [...] works, to this day priceless, concerning not only Podhale itself, but also the Tatra Mountains (shepherding and work in the forest); they are a basic source of knowledge about the traditional folk material culture of Podhale and the Polish Tatra Mountains" (WET 730).
