Joanna Tumilowicz received her master's degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of the UW in 1974. From 1974 to 1989 she worked at a departmental institute, while from 1989 to 2006 she was a member of the National Philharmonic Choir in Warsaw as a musical artist. From 2007 to 2013, she studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She received her diploma in the Workshop Graphics Studio of Prof. Rafał Strent and the Book Design and Illustration Studio of Prof. Zygmunt Januszewski, while the annex to the diploma was created in the Visual Structures Studio of Prof. Jacek Dyrzyński. She is the author of dozens of solo exhibitions and a participant in many group exhibitions at home and abroad. In 2020, she defended her doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Tumilowicz is a two-time winner of the Warsaw Graphics competition. In 2021, she received an honorable mention at the 3rd BTA in Poznań. She is a music reviewer. She performs intelligence and perceptiveness tests for the press.
