Kazimierz Wiszniewski (b. 1894 in Warsaw, d. 1960 in Kraków)
He began his studies at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under the guidance of Ignacy Pieńkowski and Stanisław Lentz. He continued his education at Konrad Krzyżanowski’s private painting school. He completed his artistic education at the Municipal School of Decorative Arts under Mieczysław Kotarbiński, Edmund Trojanowski, and Władysław Skoczylas, whom he considered his master. He stylized his works under the influence of folk art and ornamentation. He also created religious compositions and portraits.
After 1930, Wiszniewski shifted his focus to architecture and landscape, significantly enriching his graphic techniques. The subject of his works is the historic architecture of Gdańsk, Poznań, Kazimierz, Warsaw, and other cities.
He worked in printmaking, primarily woodcut, and occasionally in painting and drawing. Thanks to his persistent work and despite his disability (he was deaf and mute), he achieved a prominent position among interwar printmakers.
He participated in the Second International Exhibition of Modern Graphic Art in Florence. There, he was in the company of Józef Mehoffer, Władysław Skoczylas, Wojciech Weiss, and Leon Wyczółkowski.
