Picasso painted many pictures of his youngest children with French painter Françoise Gilot.
The most famous is precisely the one on which the lithograph in question was based. The painting owes its fame to the price of $28 million , which was paid in 2013 at an auction at Christie's by China's then richest man Wang Jianlin - owner of the Wanda Group - and the great uproar in the media in China, criticizing the purchase. The Chinese media believed that Wang Jianlin should distribute the money to the poor, rather than buy a Picasso painting.
