He was a student of the Department of Philosophy at Jan Kazimierz University for a year. In 1887-1889 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1893, after receiving a scholarship, he studied at the Vienna Academy, under Ch. Griepenklerl. After returning to Poland, he was a teacher of drawing in Brody and Yaroslavl. In 1898 he went to Italy and Dalmatia for a year and a half. In 1908 he settled in Zakopane. He created works with symbolic content under the strong influence of Władysław Podkowiński. He exhibited at the Cracow TPSP (1892, 1893,1894), as well as in Lviv. He published illustrations in the Lviv biweekly "Faun". From around 1897 he began to take an interest in landscape. After returning from Dalmatia, he began systematic studies of nature, traveling to the Lviv area during summers. Since settling in Zakopane, he became a painter of the Tatra Mountains. He was a member of TZSP, where his posthumous exhibition was held in 1931.
