Barbara Żak, born November 21, 1955 in Ustroń. She studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Wroclaw at the Faculty of Painting Graphics and Sculpture. She received her diploma in painting in 1980 under the direction of Prof. Konrad Jarodzki. After her studies, she experienced a several-year adventure with the beautiful world of the Banialuka Puppet Theater in Bielsko-Biała. Harlequins, pierrots and theatrical puppets appeared not only in stage design, but penetrated into her painting and ceramic works. She has been a member of ZPAP since 1981. Her works are in the collections of: Silesian Museum in Katowice, District Museum in Nowy Sącz and in private collections at home and abroad.
