Ireneusz Walczak, born 1961, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts Cracow, Department of Graphics in Katowice (1988), diploma with distinction. Full professor, runs a painting studio, from 2nd to 5th year (diploma) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Since 1989, he has painted eleven series of paintings including : "Building identity", "My house is my language", "Multicultural". He participated in 2pon 300 collective exhibitions at home and abroad. He had 21 solo exhibitions at home and abroad. He has won 30-odd national and international awards and prizes, including Grand Prix - prize (medal) of the mayor of Chamalieres - 1st World Triennial of Small Graphic Forms, Chamalieres, France (1988), Scholarship "The Pollock - Krasner Foundation Award", New York, USA (1993), Grand Prix - "Bielska Jesień", Bielsko-Biała (1993). From the beginning, he also participated in important generational exhibitions, including "Critics about us" -BWA Sopot (1989), "Black Hole" BWA Katowice (1990), Painting of the 80s - Frankfurt am Main, Dusseldorf - Germany (1991), "Demolition of the Iron Curtain" Kuhlhaus Exhibition Center Berlin - 2011).Trojan Horse - BWA Katowice - curated by Ingmar Villqist (2015) .
