Marcin Berdyszak often creates painting objects referring to the poetics of the road. In his realizations he refers to road signs and other warning elements - hence the stripes: red-white or yellow-black. The presented work is a series of superimposed boards with yellow and black stripes. On the front board, the stripes are wide, on the following boards they become narrower and denser, which creates the effect of a pespective of the road. The viewer has the impression of approaching successive barriers. Berdyszak's work encapsulates space and time, as well as the excitement of speeding down the road by car, the curiosity and uncertainty of its end, and the awareness of danger. In this quite serious story, the artist includes an element of absurdity, namely, he places bananas in the composition. The motif of the banana - often recurring in Berdyszak's work - is a Dadaist gesture of nullification, in this case - a sort of negation of the warning.
