"In the years l927-l934 he studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University in Vilnius under Ferdynand Ruszczyc, Ludomir Ślendziński, Antoni Szturman, Jerzy Hoppen. It was they who exerted the greatest influence on his work. An insightful observer, an artist with a special ability to look. Excellently operates light and what we call excellent painting technique. Michal Dobriak's rich artistic output also includes still lifes or genre scenes. In his long life he has earned only a few solo exhibitions in the years: 1935, 1950, 1953, 1955, 1957, 1961 and 1996. He also took part in more than a dozen group exhibitions, including the annual so-called "reporting exhibitions" of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Stefan Batory University in Vilnius in 1928- 1934.
