Graduate of Landscape Architecture at UP in Poznań, where he currently lives and works. He works in painting, illustration, printmaking and drawing. In Kurpiewski's work, his interest in man and his environment along with all the connections between them comes to the fore. Intentionally moving on the border of abstraction, they emphasize the unreal character of the works oscillating between the sacred and the profane. In his works Kurpiewski is not afraid to touch on difficult issues, sometimes perceived as taboo by society. In the artist's work, we encounter a narrative expanded into a symbolic layer, eagerly referring to past times. He often subjects social and cultural phenomena to discussion in his works.
