Swiss artists group. 1933 Foundation of Group 33 as an anti-fascist group in Basel, founding members included Walter Kurt Wiemken, Walter Bodmer, Rudolf Maeglin, Otto Abt, Theo Eble, Paul Camenisch, Otto Staiger, Hans Stocker, Max Sulzbachner, Lois Weber, Serge Brignoni, Louis Léon Weber, Carlo König, Willy Hege. Other members include Irène Zurkinden, Max Haufler, Charles Hindenlang, Meret Oppenheim, Hermann Eidenbenz, Walter Gürtler, Kurt Seligmann, Walter Johannes Moeschlin, Ernst Musfeld, Bénédict Remund, Adolf Weisskopf, Thomas Keller, Alex Maier and Hans Rudolf Schiess. First exhibition at the Galerie M. Schulthess. In 1948 a new group formed against Group 33 in Basel Kreis 48. 1970 dissolution of Group 33.
