The pre-war badge of the Warsaw Municipal Power Plant, designed by S. Reising, takes on special significance in the context of the Home Army due to the role the Warsaw Power Plant played during the Warsaw Uprising.
The facility was manned by the WSOP “N-9215” Public Utilities Group, subordinate to the Home Army and commanded by Captain Stanisław Skibniewski, alias “Nelson” and “Cubryna.” The core of the unit consisted of power plant employees who, on August 1, 1944, participated in the capture and defense of the facility, ensuring power supplies to insurgent-held Warsaw for over a month.
For this reason, the pre-war employee badge of the Warsaw Power Plant can be regarded as a memento directly linked to the activities of the Home Army and the WSOP soldiers who fought in the Warsaw Uprising.
Dimensions: 25 mm x 27 mm.
