Rw.:
Two lions support an oval shield with the coat of arms of Gdansk. Above the shield a laurel wreath with two palm leaves. In the wreath a three-leaved branch. Under the lions' paws the initials G-R (Gerard Rogge - tenant of the Gdansk mint). Below the shield an elongated cartouche with the date 1649.
In the rim: MONETA ARGENTEA CIVITATIS GEDANENSIS
Bust Type IIB wearing a crown with a net covering the cap.
Variety with double lion tails.
Inscribed variety with the titulature IOAN ... PR in the rim on the obverse and ... GEDANENSIS on the reverse.
Variety with a trifoliate branch between palm leaves.
Condition: 2-/2
Minor disc imperfections and local scarcity, but a beautifully preserved coin. Good detail. Charming patina. On the obverse in the field the letter P (probably an indication of the position in the collection). Small punch on the rim. Coin comes with a card with collector's handwritten notes.
