Sigismund III Vasa, 1626 Six-Reichsmark, Kraków – GROSS – trivia – extremely rare
A bust of the king facing right (Pączkowski variant 2).
Variant featuring the Półkozic coat of arms (of Hermolaus Ligęza—Grand Crown Treasurer), in a shield with a crest curved in two arcs, divided at the bottom by a circumferential inscription on the obverse.
Variant with a coronet (Pączkowski I.d)—with stars on the fleurons (Pączkowski variant I) and linear arches (Pączkowski variant d).
Inscription variant with the king’s title SIGIS III … POL … on the obverse and GROSS … POL 1626 on the reverse—very rare.
A punctuation variant with the date ∙1626
Interesting fact—the obverse punctuation in the form of asterisks—very rare.
Condition: 2/2+
Minor flaws in the metal and striking, but a beautifully preserved piece. Brilliant luster and mint mirror finish. A very rare inscription variant. Asterisks used as punctuation on the obverse—very rare. A very rare coin that is difficult to find on the collector’s market. Beautiful pieces for specialized collections.
