Opera binoculars by Dorrer & Braun, Munich, turn of the 19th and 20th centuries

These opera glasses were manufactured by the Munich-based firm Dorrer & Braun, which held the status of purveyor to the imperial court and the army, as evidenced by the mark on the leather case.
The original case is made of leather, and its interior is lined with blue velvet. It closes with a brass clasp. The bridge of the binoculars bears the manufacturer’s name and the place of manufacture—Munich.
