American photographer and director whose work has held an important place in the world of international fashion photography for more than two decades. Born and raised in the state of Pennsylvania, he later moved to New York, where he studied marine biology and fine arts. This unusual combination of scientific observation and artistic sensibility influenced his style, based on the harmony of light, movement and emotion.
Kadel began his career as a fashion photographer, quickly gaining recognition for his bold yet sophisticated approach to the aesthetics of female portraiture. His photographs have been published in major magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Numéro, i-D, Visionaire and Elle. He has also worked with some of the fashion world's biggest brands - including Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Calvin Klein, Victoria's Secret, Salvatore Ferragamo and L'Oréal.
His work is distinguished by extraordinary attention to detail, a sense of light and body movement. Greg Kadel often explores the theme of feminine power, beauty and identity, creating images that cross the boundaries between fashion photography and contemporary art.
