Banknote 500 zloty 1940, series A , numbering beginning with the digits 12.....
Original banknote of the issuer, however with the numbering of a diversionary counterfeit - hence rare.
Due to the large number of introduced diversionary 500 zloty forgeries with series A and numbering strings starting with 12..... and 13....., the occupation authorities decided to withdraw all series A banknotes with such initial numbering, which is why pieces like this one from the auction are rare nowadays.
Acceptable piece in circulated condition, with soiling, numerous folds and paper breaks.
