Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1893 to 1898 and at the Académie Julian in Paris. In 1900, he settled in Rome, from where he undertook numerous artistic journeys, including to Egypt. In 1908, he returned to Lviv, where he settled permanently. There, he received a commission to decorate the interiors of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. He worked as a set designer and served as stage manager at the Municipal Theater. He designed theatrical costumes and stained-glass windows. In his paintings, he employed the language of naturalism, using a contrasting, bold color palette. He primarily created popular seascapes and Oriental scenes, often depicting human labor or centered around female figures.
