Moritz Zdekauer (MZ Austria) porcelain was created in Altrohlau (Old Role), one of the most important centers of porcelain production in the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy. The factory operated from 1882 and quickly gained a reputation for its high quality porcelain mass and rich, often hand-painted decorations.
Products signed "MZ Austria" were widely exported, especially to European and American markets, where they were valued for their elegant forms and precise gilding. The factory's offerings included both table services and decorative dishes with the characteristic fine style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
